Topic: Advanced Gene Editing of Health- and Commercially Important Genes in Soybean
As part of her Master’s project, Elia is working with the Parrott Lab at the University of Georgia (UGA), a group specializing in the genetics and biotechnology of crop plants. Her goal is to learn gene editing techniques and apply them to her research project, which focuses on improving the nutritional value of soybeans. This opportunity allows Elia to work with experienced scientists in molecular plant breeding and to be part of an international research team for three months.
From the very beginning, Elia was warmly welcomed and fully integrated into the group’s research activities. She has already been able to expand her methodological skills and gain a deeper understanding of crop improvement and advanced gene editing approaches. Elia is confident that this exchange will have a lasting impact on her academic path and future development.
