Mara recently joined Prof. Ulli Bayer's research lab at the University of Colorado Denver, Anschutz Medical Campus, to investigate how CaMKII S-nitrosylation influences learning and memory. With a background in studying CaMKII in the heart, she is excited to apply and broaden this expertise in a new neuroscientific context.

Her group is embedded in a thriving, collaborative department with excellent technical resources and methodological know-how. Outside the lab, she enjoys discovering Colorado's incredible outdoor opportunities.
