On October 7, 2017, the Austrian Research and Innovation Talk (ARIT) brought together over 130 scientists and policy makers from both the United States and Austria in Austin, Texas. The annual three-day conference, now in its 14th year, is organized by the OSTA Washington. The ARIT is the most important Austrian science & innovation gathering in North America.

Book Presentation in New Orleans
On October 12, 2017, Center Austria Director Günter Bischof and Dr. Hans Petschar of the Austrian National Library presented their book The Marshall Plan - Since 1947 at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans, La. Introductory remarks were delivered by the Museum's Dr. Rob Citino. Ambassador Wolfgang Petritsch, President of the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation, served as the commentator.

Former President of Austria celebrates 70th Anniversary of the Marshall Plan
On the 70th anniversary of the Marshall Plan, Dr. Heinz Fischer, alongside the former U.S. Secretary of State, Dr. Madeleine Albright, spoke at the official anniversary celebration at the Marshall House in Leesburg, Virginia, as well as at a commemoration at the U.S. Capitol with congressmen and diplomats, including Ambassador Wolfgang Petritsch, in attendance.

The Institute of European Studies at the University of California, Berkeley and the Austrian Marshall Foundation are proud to announce the extension of their cooperation agreement. This will allow us to provide fellowships to a select group of graduate students from the United States and Austria in order to stimulate research in and about the other nation. The agreement also allows for a fruitful cooperation between Austrian universities, research institutes and the University of California.
