Call for Poster Abstracts: AMPF Poster Session 2026
We cordially invite Austrian researchers, scholars, scientists, and innovators currently based in North America to submit an abstract for the AMPF Poster Session 2026.
This poster session is a joint initiative of the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation (AMPF), the Austrian Science Fund (FWF), and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Women, Science and Research (BMFWF).
Who is eligible to submit?
Eligible applicants are:
Graduate students or postdoctoral researchers (up to five years after PhD completion)
Of Austrian citizenship or with at least three years of prior residence in Austria before their current research position
Currently working or studying in the USA
Submission Guidelines:
Abstracts must not exceed 500 words (excluding references and disclosures)

Conclusions/Implications
Recommended size: 36 × 48 inches (91.44 × 121.92 cm)

Submissions in other formats or after the deadline cannot be accepted
Works-in-progress and projects presented or published elsewhere in the past 12 months are welcome.

Selection Process:
An expert panel from the FWF will evaluate abstracts based on scientific quality, relevance to the field, and clarity.
Up to 10 abstracts will be selected for poster presentation. Authors will be notified in July 2026 and must present their posters in person at the conference to qualify for further awards or travel support.

BMFWF Travel Grants:
Authors of selected abstracts may apply for a travel grant. The corresponding amounts of the travel grants will also be communicated as soon as possible.
Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation Poster Awards:
Three outstanding posters will be recognized during the conference:
First Prize: EUR 3,000
Second Prize: EUR 2,000
Third Prize: EUR 1,000
Wolfgang Petritsch (AMPF President), Karin Emprechtinger (AMPF Excecutive Director), Christine Langner (1st place 2025), Constanze Coelsch-Foisner (3rd place 2025) Larissa Traxler (2nd place 2025), and Alexandra Lieben (ASCINA President)
An independent jury consisting of Austrian academic leaders and representatives from AMPF, FWF, and the conference audience will evaluate posters based on scientific merit, relevance, and clarity of presentation.
We encourage all eligible researchers to take advantage of this unique opportunity to present their work, connect with the Austrian scientific community in North America, and gain international visibility.
