Meet Our Fellows: Lukas Pucher

Home: University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU)
Host: Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
Study Program: Biotechnology

I come from a small town in eastern Austria where I grew up between pumpkins, apple juice, and Puumala virus. I am undertaking my master’s degree in biotechnology at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, including a semester at Gent University in Belgium. Currently, I am working at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City under the supervision of Florian Krammer on improving neuraminidase-based, recombinant influenza vaccines. My stay has allowed me to make substantial progress in my understanding of vaccinology, study design, and immunology (here, not only buildings but also ideas scrape the sky). It is a privilege to explore the cultural melting pot of New York City, which I will never forget.

Never Miss an Opportunity.
