The winners of the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation Poster Awards have been announced during the Austrian Research & Innovation Talk (ARIT) in Washington, DC on September 18, 2021. Congratulations to:
- 1st Place — Anna-Katharina von Krauland (Stanford University) for her poster "Mapping the Path to 100% Renewable Energy: Onshore Wind Energy Atlas for the United States" (video) (poster)
- 2nd Place — Christiane Fuchs (Massachusetts General Hospital) for her poster "Plantar skin — An evolutionary revolution that comes at a tradeoff for skin growth" (video) (poster)
- 3rd Place — Sonja Schmid (Virginia Tech) for her poster "Tritium in Transition: The Material Culture of a Special Ingredient" (video) (poster)
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the authors will presented their posters in a virtual format for the Austrian Research and Innovation Talk (ARIT) on Saturday, September 18, 2021.
The Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation sponsors awards for the top three submissions:
The winner receives €3,000.
The first runner-up receives €2,000.
The second runner-up receives €1,000.
An independent jury/panel of experts of Austrian academic leaders, the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation, the Austrian Science Fund, OSTA Washington, and members of the ARIT audience will review the presented posters and select the three winners based on:
• scientific quality
• significance to the respective scientific field
• structure and clarity of the presented poster.
